Boss Dice Game Rules

Boss Dice, also known as Dull Dice, is based on Poker dice hands. The game requires two or more players, each with five dice and a dice cup.

Both players roll their five dice simultaneously and the player with the highest ranking Poker hand on this first roll is “Boss”. If no ranking Poker hand is rolled, the round is void and players start again until a Poker hand is rolled.

The Boss then sets aside the dice that made up their Poker hand and rolls the remainder, keeping them hidden in their dice cup. This player can then decide to continue with the round or call it off, depending on what he has rolled in two rolls and what the other player has rolled in one and could potentially get in a second roll.

If the Boss decides he is unlikely to win and not to continue, he calls out “Pick them up!” In this case, both players pick up their dice and start from the beginning. If he decides he has a good chance of winning, he calls “Come up!” In this instance, the other player decides to either keep some of his dice and rolls the others again, or he rolls all five again.

After both players have had two rolls, they show their dice and the highest ranking Poker hand wins. If both players have the same ranking hand, then the round is voided and restarts. The winning of the game, is the player who wins two out of three rounds.
